I never thought I'd live to see the day a bingo disagreement spilled over into the courts! But the BBC recently published this article in which they claim 3 sisters went to court in order to settle a dispute over a £50,000 payout. Apparantly, despite an agreement between the ladies prior to the game, the winning sister decide to keep all the money for herself (where are her morals?).
Loads of players however are now opting to play in an online bingo game, so how long will it be before sharing of winnings agreements become obsolete? And have you ever shared a big win with a friend? How about online bingo?
The big win came at the Buckingham Bingo Palace in Hunts Cross, Liverpool, in June 2007, the court heard. All three sisters were "overwhelmed and completely excited" by the win, Mrs Kenny told the court. But Mrs Sexton later changed her mind about sharing the winnings and a family rift developed, leading to the court action.
Judge Derek Halbert ruled that the actions of Mrs Sexton, from Liverpool, amounted to a breach of contract.
